Do I need homeowners insurance?
It isn’t required by law, but if you have a mortgage your lender will require proof of coverage. Without it, you could be left paying out of pocket to repair or rebuild after a loss.
Florida tip: A wind mitigation inspection can lower the wind portion of your premium, and homes roughly 25–30+ years old may need a 4-point inspection to qualify with some carriers. We’ll tell you which apply to your home.

Frequently asked questions
Does homeowners insurance cover hurricane damage in Florida?
Wind damage from a hurricane is usually covered, subject to a separate hurricane deductible — commonly a percentage of your dwelling coverage. Storm-surge and rising-water damage are flood, which requires a separate flood policy.
My insurer dropped me. Can you still help?
Yes. Non-renewals are common in Florida right now. As an independent agency, we can shop multiple carriers — and Citizens if needed — to find replacement coverage.
How can I lower my home insurance premium?
The biggest levers are a wind mitigation inspection, a newer roof, a higher deductible you can comfortably afford, bundling with auto, and protective devices like monitored alarms and impact-rated openings.
